Install

Ten minutes, one time

    Unzip the download

    Double-click the zip on Mac, or right-click and choose Extract All on Windows. Move the AutoApply folder somewhere it can stay, like Documents. Chrome runs the extension from that folder, so do not delete it.

    Add it to Chrome

    Open chrome://extensions in the address bar, turn on Developer mode (top right), click Load unpacked and choose the AutoApply folder. Then click the puzzle piece and pin Auto Apply to your toolbar.

    Set up your profile

    Click the Auto Apply icon, then Set up my profile. Add a free AI key if you want it to read your resume and write cover letters.

Updating

Already installed? Update in place

Download the new zip and copy its files over the same AutoApply folder you loaded before. Then open chrome://extensions and click the reload icon on the Auto Apply card.

Load it from the same folder path. If you load it from a new location, Chrome treats it as a different extension and your saved profile and answers will not carry over on their own.

From v0.9.0 you do not have to re-enter anything. Sign in here, open Profile and press Connect my extension. Your profile, saved answers, resumes and tracked jobs are stored on your account and come back, even into a fresh install.

  • Your profile now lives on your website too. Contact details, work history, education, skills, saved answers, resume files and cover letter settings are kept in step in both directions, so a new install or a new folder picks everything up again. You edit it in the extension or on the website's Profile page.
  • One click connect: sign in to the website, open Profile and press Connect my extension. No token to copy and paste.
  • Jobs flow both ways. Jobs added on the website, by a bot or from Gmail show up in the extension's tracker, and status changes made on the website are followed.
  • You choose what syncs in the Website tab. Voluntary self identification answers can be kept in this browser only, and AI keys stay here unless you switch them on.
  • Everything stored on the website is encrypted. Bot tokens can only reach jobs, never your profile.

  • New Add to my website tracker button in the side panel. One click sends the job with everything the extension found: title, company, place, pay, remote or hybrid, job type, the full job description and your skills match.
  • The extension now reads the pay from a posting, either from its structured data or from a pay range written in the description.
  • After adding, an Open on website button jumps to that job, and an I applied button marks it applied on both sides. Pressing Add again on the same job updates it instead of duplicating it.

  • New Website tab in settings. Paste an access token from your website Settings page and jobs you save or mark as applied are sent to your board automatically.

  • Chrome may ask you to approve access to the Auto Apply website when you reload the extension. That is the new connection.
